Solving Problems - Creating Value

urbanOvation’s commitment to connect members to new opportunities has become a reality. Two recent examples demonstrate the potential:

In the first, the challenge of funding a major mixed-use development in Paris was introduced by one uO member to another. This opportunity created transaction fee for the members who successfully closed the deal and a referral fee for the member that made the introduction.

In the second, we organised a workshop for a UK landowner seeking planning approval for a large greenbelt site. Several participants have since secured assignments to assist in progressing the project.

Art plays a vital role in enhancing public spaces. Yet people increasingly question the purpose and value of art. This lively debate will explore three questions:

  • What is the role of government, owners, planners and developers?

A diverse panel of experts from the art world moderated by Sarah Elson will set the stage. Gerald Parkes will follow, refereeing on open discussion with real estate leaders and other stakeholders.
