Forum Focus

Forums are groups within the urbanOvation community focused on specific themes and areas of interest. Created and co-chaired by Derek Barker, Bill Sebring and Jeremy Salmon with Carolina Andrade as Forum Director, The Future Places Forum (FPF) was the first uO Forum. They have held over 20 events and are planning several more in the coming months. The long anticipated transition from virtual to meeting in real places will evolve ‘innovations and insights’ themes such as their ‘No1 Left behind – Future Living’.

They are also planning their first Future Places Road Trip on June, which in the space of a few compact days together we will take in major new urbanism trends in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague, meeting some leading new voices in creative placemaking.

Impact and Collaboration

The uO Solutions workshop organised has transitioned into the full scale project phase. Several participants have secured assignments to assist in progressing the project and a vision document has been produced to promote the site. The core focus of the project is to humanise the development through bringing forth a scheme responding directly to the needs of the community. We look forward to the next stages as we explore the social value the project can bring.
